Three days after discharge (Sunday)

It’s good to be at home and out of hospital and away from all of its dependencies. Been focusing my diet now.

My daily goal is 2200 calories + exercise. I have an app now that was recommended that allows me to create a food diary of what I eat and when (MyFitnessPal).

I’m struggling with sleep though. It’s not natural for me to sleep on my back. Unfortunately where my stomach is now located, if I roll on to my sides it crushes my lungs and I get short of breath. I’m not sure if this is a permanent thing or if it’s related to my lungs still not 100%, but time will tell.

I have been experimenting with different pillow and wedge configurations to support my back and keep my body slightly elevated to avoid anything “exiting” from my stomach.

But I can’t complain really. Apart from tiredness, I feel good in myself, not in any pain or discomfort and on minimal drugs (paracetamol 4 times a day and a daily blood thinner injection). Been for short walks, and lungs improving daily raising my oxygen saturation level from an average of 91/92% to 94/95%. Bit of a way to go, but going in the right direction. 👍
