Day 11 (Thursday)

I am home

Had a comfortable sleep in the private room. Breakfast was porridge which went down well. Bloods were taken and my surgeon came and saw me. He was very pleased with my progress and on day 10 he discharged me (they refer it as day 10 as operation to them is day 0). He said average is 10 days for my operation and he was pleased with blood results and oxygen levels.

Armed with a bag of drugs and 28 stabby things and a sharps box; I was discharged at 3pm.

You can only imagine how excited my dog was when master returned home. She was beside her self. She hasn’t left my side since.

I’ll update the blog over the coming weeks on my diet progress and cancer histology results.

Thank you so much for your well wishes and support throughout this past month. At 52, I now start a new life, adjusting in ways I thought I would never have to do.
