Day 9 (Tuesday) – update

All the results from CT Scan, Covid, Influenza and blood tests have been good as in, negative. The scan still show compressed lungs though and infection and have been put back on an antibiotic for a few days and then a 7 day oral dose. Breathing is a little easier and noticed my voice return much to normal today indicating the swelling had gone down.

Ilke brought me home made chicken and mushroom soup and rice pudding and even with bits in the soup I was able to digest okay.

In the evening I was back on a puree diet and I was able to eat most of it before being full. chicken Casserole. Or cat vomit.

Surgeon was pleased with things and has put the fever down to the infection in my lungs my body is still fighting. One more night in the ward aka hostel, and 6am blood test. If okay then I’m back to Nuffield for a day or so and hopefully home Thursday.
