I’m cancer free
This evening, I met my surgeon and he shared the results from histology/pathology. He removed 47 lymph nodes in surgery and every single one of them had zero traces of any cancer! This is the best news ever, been dreading this day.
Furthermore the oesophagus that was removed contains residual cancer cells which were not removed from the previous polyp removal, as originally expected. So, if I opted not to have surgery that cancer would have grown and spread. If the cancer reached my lymph nodes, my survival rate would have been less than 50%.
This wholly justified having this surgery.
I am very lucky, and fortunate to have this caught early to have it removed. I fully appreciate not everyone is as fortunate as I am at this stage.
Good news Paul, now just take it slowly and not expect miraculous leaps, and you’ll have a good recovery. X
Absolutely delighted to hear that news Paul!
Fantastic! Sorry for the delayed response! Rest well and get back to doing things you love with people you love.
Great news PJ, we’re thinking of you xxx
